Sydney bathhouses and saunas under $50

The good ones are cheaper than you think, if you go early or midweek. Every price below was checked on the venue's own site in September 2026.

Sydney's bathhouses price their first sessions of the day lowest. If you can get there before work, most of the city's best bathhouses cost less than a takeaway dinner for two.

The morning rule

Almost every bathhouse on The Soak List has a cheaper early slot, usually from about 6:30 to 9:30am. At 38° The Bathhouse in Bondi Beach that slot is also a silent session, which suits a first visit: nobody expects you to know what you are doing, and nobody is talking.

The midweek rule

Monday to Thursday is about $10 cheaper than Friday to Sunday at both Soak and Nature's Energy. The facilities are the same; the crowd is smaller.

Bathhouses under $50

Four bathhouses have an entry price at or under $40:

Saunas under $50

If you mainly want heat and cold, the sauna clubs go further for the money. A single session at any of the four XtraClubs is $39 for 90 minutes with a Finnish sauna, infrared saunas, a steam room and ice baths. Harbour Heat at Q Station in Manly is $25 off-peak for 50 minutes in a wood-fired sauna. The Sauna Project in Vaucluse is $40 for an hour with three rounds of Aufguss, where the sauna master pours water and scent over the stones.

For a private room, infrared studios start around $40: express sessions at Nimbus Co, a 45-minute session at True Float in Paddington for $44, or City Cave's private infrared saunas for $49.

Check what the price includes. Some venues supply towels and robes; others charge for hire or expect you to bring your own. Each venue page on The Soak List lists what is inside and what is included, with the date we last checked the prices.

Early sessions are silent and phone-free. Sound sessions run on Monday mornings at no extra cost. Groups up to six.

Soak sessions run two hours, three hours or all day and cover the sauna, steam room, hydrotherapy spas, magnesium plunge pool, robe, slippers and towels. Float rooms, facials, massage, yoga and breathwork classes on the same site. Licensed, with food. Closed Monday and Tuesday.
